High-resolution primary color CCD in a compact configuration
With the QV-R4, the latest in device miniaturization was employed to make it possible to pack a 4.13-megapixel primary color CCD into a compact body that measures a mere 3.5” x 2.3” x 1.2”. The QV-R3 has a 3.34-megapixel CCD. This level of resolution makes it possible to capture all the nuances of subtle flesh tones and fine details of scenery shots, and primary color filtering ensures vivid colors every time.
Advanced 3X optical zoom lens
Seven lenses in six groups, including an aspherical lens, provide advanced 3X optical zoom capabilities. This, combined with 3.2X digital zoom, provides a combined maximum zoom factor of 9.6X.
Release time lag of approximately 0.01 second
The release time lag from the point that the shutter release button is pressed until the image is recorded is about 0.01 second when focus lock is used. This means you get exactly the shot you want.
Best Shot Mode for instant setups
Simply select the Best Shot scene that is like the one you want to record and light metering, exposure, saturation, and other settings are configured in an instant. Two new innovative features are “Coupling Shot” and “Pre-Shot”:
Coupling Shot - This feature makes it possible for two people to be included in the same image, even when they are the only two around. Person A records Person B on one side of the image. A transparent view of the first image remains on the monitor screen so Person B can use it to compose the other side and record Person A. Only the second image is stored in camera memory, showing both Person A and Person B.
Pre-Shot – With this feature you can compose the background you want and record it. A transparent view of the background image remains on the monitor screen so you can ask someone to record you against the background, using the monitor screen image as a guide. Only the second image is stored in camera memory, showing you against the background you want.
Triple Self-timer
The Triple Self-timer records three consecutive shots with a single shutter release button operation. This simplifies the recording of group shots that include the photographer because a single operation gives you a choice of three images from which you can select the one you want.
World Time and alarm features
The World Time feature lets you keep track of the current time at home and in another time zone when traveling or for any other reason. It also eliminates the need to make troublesome clock settings whenever you travel to another time zone. You can set up to three alarm times and even have a specific image appear on the monitor screen as a reminder when an alarm time is reached.
Album function displays using HTML files
The camera generates HTML files that make it possible to view recorded images on your computer screen in an easy-to-use album format. You can use the album to browse images and even print album pages.
