ELMSFORD, NY: Mamiya—a pioneer and trailblazer of the now popular 6x4.5 SLR format introduces a new basic 6x4.5 single lens reflex camera loaded with practical features.
The new 645E camera accepts all 19 world-class Mamiya 645 lenses from fish eye wide angle to 500mm telephoto, plus two zoom and two world-class MAMIYA macro lenses.
The basic 645E has a built-in AE reflex finder with a convenient click-stop diopter adjustment eyepiece, “in viewfinder” Auto Exposure shutter speed readouts, as well as manual shutter speed selection. Featuring interchangeable, preloadable film inserts for 120 and 220 film, the 645E has achieved a compact size and is light weight.
The film area captured by the 6x4.5 frame is nearly 3 times larger than conventional 35mm film and requires little or no cropping for 8x10 and proportional enlargements.
With shutter speeds from 8 sec. to 1/1000 sec., the focal plane shutter is electronically powered to provide ultra accurate exposures in 1/6-stop increments between enumerated shutter speeds in the Auto Exposure modes—crucially important with color transparency films.
