- Minolta’s Activa 8 x 42D WP and 10 x 42D WP Binoculars feature 100% multi-coated optics and multi-coated, high-refraction BaK4 prisms. The multi coating is applied to the all light-transmitting surfaces, for optimum brightness. Additionally, the prism-reflecting surface features a unique Phase Coating and Special Mirror Coating to ensure precise, razor-sharp images without light loss. As a result, these binoculars offer extraordinarily clear and crisp viewing with unsurpassed brightness.
- Phase-Coated Prisms
- By design, roof-prism binoculars split the light entering the front (objective ) lenses into two separate light paths, which are again rejoined before reaching the viewer’s eyes. As the two light beams are brought together, they create a phase shift, which in turn creates interference and can result in a lower image quality. To correct this phase shift, the Activa 8 x 42D WP and 10 x 42D WP Binoculars’ roof prism reflective surface features a special Phase.
- Waterproof Construction
- Activa 8 x 42D WP and 10 x 42D WP Binoculars can be used year-round, in any weather. They are specially designed to seal out rain, mist, snow, and splashes, as well as dust and dirt. Activa 8 x 42D WP and 10 x 42D WP Binoculars are rated equivalent to IPX6 (IEC standard) for waterproofing, meaning that they are protected against powerful water jets -- water projected in jets against the enclosure from any direction will not penetrate.
- Nitrogen Filled to Prevent Internal Fogging
- The Activa 8 x 42D WP and 10 x 42D WP Binoculars’ airtight body is filled with dry nitrogen gas, which prevents condensation and fogging from occurring on the internal optics. Nitrogen filling ensures the highest quality images even under inclement weather conditions and sudden temperature changes.

- +/- 3 Diopter Adjustment
- A convenient diopter adjustment wheel enables the user to pre-set the binoculars to his or her eyesight requirements. Diopter adjustment is independent of focusing and needs to be set only once for the user.
