1.4 Mega Pixel High-Quality Images & 3X Zoom Lens Establish New Standard for Price and Performance Progressive Scan Sensor Captures Images in One-Pass for Superb Image Quality SLR cameras.
The Olympus D-600L combines high-resolution with a light-weight, built-in 3X zoom lens and TTL (through the lens) single lens reflex type viewfinder. The innovative design is inspired by the popular, award-winning Olympus IS series 35mm SLR cameras.
3X Zoom Lens
The D-600L has a 3X zoom lens, featuring a seven element aspherical all-glass f2.8 design with macro capabilities. With a zoom lens of 36mm to 110mm focal lengths, macro focus close-up views from 11.8" ~23.6", and a standard focus range is 23.6" to infinity, this camera has the flexibility to capture any image you set your sights on. The extremely sharp image quality of Olympus lenses is one of the prominent reasons that Olympus digital cameras have won over thirty awards this year in computer, photography and business press.
Progressive Sensor
A high-quality progressive scan CCD (charged coupled device) is used in the D-600L, allowing entire image capture in a single pass, resulting in the highest quality film-like image. Other sensor technologies can have ghosting or color bias traits. The D-600L progressive scan CCD has 1.4 mega pixels (gross) and creates images at 1280 x 1024 and 640 x 512 pixel resolutions.
SmartMediaTM Card
Utilizing a 3.3 volt SmartMedia removable media from Toshiba (also known as SSFDC or solid state floppy disk card), there is no restriction on the number of photos that can be captured. SmartMedia cards are compact, and easily downloadable to Windows and Macintosh computers via a serial cable, through a PCMCIA adapter (available from Olympus and others), or through a 3.5" floppy disk adapter (available soon from Olympus). After images have been saved or printed the card can be erased and is ready to accept more images. Smart Media Cards are available in 2 MB, 4 MB and 8 MB.
LCD Back Panel
View one or as many as nine images on the LCD Back Panel. Selective or all image erase functions let you pick and choose which images you want to save, or gives you the capability to erase all images at once after they have been saved or printed. Selective image protection (image lock) will prevent an image from accidentally being erased.
3 Levels of Compression
Three modes of image capture are available: SQ - standard quality, HQ - high quality, and SHQ - super high quality allowing for flexibility in selecting image size and levels of compression.
