Panasonic PV-DV800 Digital Palmcorder | $758.95 | | |
3-Way PC Link
This year, select Panasonic digital Palmcorder camcorders offer three convenient ways to transfer still images to your computer.
CARD LINK.
Allows you to transfer still images captured on the 8MB removable MultiMediaCard. The Mult
iMediaCard can be thought of as "digital film" so you can take still pictures and then transfer them to your computer. If the is card full, you can remove it and replace it with a fresh card. Or, selectively erase any or all of the images from the card an
d reuse it. Plus, you can even create your own images on the computer and transfer them back to the MultiMediaCard in the camcorder.
PHOTOVU LINK.
Allows you to easily transfer still images captured on the Mini DV tape to your computer using an RS-
232C Serial cable.
i.LINK
Using the industry standard IEEE 1394 PC interface, it allows you to connect your Panasonic digital camcorder to compatible personal computers for advanced editing and viewing purposes. This exceptional digital interface a
lso provides for connection to similarly equipped digital camcorders, allowing you to produce duplicate copies of your personal recordings without any loss in picture quality.
18x Hi-Definition Zoom
This year, Panasonic digital camcorders are equi
pped with a lens capable of an 18:1 optical zoom. This powerful feature acts like a telescope to produce close-up shots with extraordinary clarity so you won't miss a single detail. It also offers seven different zoom speeds, so you can go from wide angle
to full telephoto zoom in 2 to 22 seconds.
300x Digital ZOOM
Through the use of digital technology, the zoom ratio on these digital Palmcorder camcorders can be increased to an amazing 300:1 for an incredibly close shot.
WideSight 3.5" Wide A
ngle Color LCD Monitor
The Panasonic PV-DV800 Digital Palmcorder Camcorder features the incredible WideSight LCD screen. The 3.5" screen uses special polysilicon materials that help keep the picture clear when viewed from almost any angle. It delivers
a brilliantly clear picture in full vivid color, and it rotates 270 degrees, letting you hold the camcorder at many different angles while you record. Plus, with the built-in speaker, you can check your finished recordings right "on location" by playing
them back on the LCD screen.
PhotoShot Built-in Digital Still Camera
The PhotoShot feature allows you to use your digital camcorder as a digital still camera. You can record about 1,000 still images on one 80-minute tape in LP mode. And, you can t
ransfer these still images to your computer for use in e-mail or printed documents; play them back on your TV to create your own slide show; or print them out in full color with the optional Panasonic PV-PD2100 Digital Photo Printer! To further enhance th
e photographic effect created by the PhotoShot feature, you can use the shutter effect to simulate the look and sound of a camera shutter each time you take a still picture.
Dual Digital Electronic Image Stabilization (D-EIS)
Panasonic invented Di
gital EIS to compensate for unintentional hand and camcorder movement to help stabilize your recordings, even when you're recording as a passenger from a moving vehicle or while walking. Now with Dual D-EIS, you can even use the same technology in the Pla
yback mode to help remove additional jitter from previously recorded video.
IR Filter On/Off
This amazing feature, available on select Panasonic digital camcorder models, allows you to record video in near total darkness with incredible detail (im
ages record in black and white). By simply turning on the IR Filter, the camcorder uses infrared light to record objects in dark settings up to approximately 10 feet away.
Analog In
Thanks to the analog-in jack on select models of Panasonic Digita
l Palmcorder Camcorders, you will be able to save all of your precious memories that were recorded in the analog format and record them onto a digital Mini DV tape.
Digital Effects (Record & Playback Modes)
Now you can add exciting digital effects
in both the Recording and Playback modes to make your videos really come to life.
Digital Zoom (Playback): Enlarges the center of the playback image by 2x
Digital Mirror (Record and Playback): Creates a mirror like symmetrical image
Strobe (Rec
ord and Playback): Digitally "freezes" a series of images
Mosaic (Record and Playback): Turns the image into a mosaic pattern
Slim (Record and Playback): The image expands vertically
Stretch (Record and Playback): The image expands horizontall
y
Trail (Record and Playback): Forms multiple impressions of all images in motion, which gradually fade-out as the motion comes to a halt, creating a "trail" effect
Monotone (Playback): The image plays back in black and white
Sepia (Playback):
Creates the impression of antiquity by applying a sepia tone
Gain-Up (Record): Responds to light with super-sensitivity so you can record in low lighting
PCM Stereo (12-bit/l6-bit)
With the amazing 16-bit PCM technology, you can record audio
at extremely high levels for magnificently crisp stereo sound. The impressive 12-bit PCM technology utilizes two sets of stereo, allowing you to add new audio while maintaining the existing audio, perfect for inserting background music or commentary into
your videos.
Audio Dubbing
Lets you replace audio without Affecting the existing video (SP mode only).
Variable Playback Speed
All Panasonic Digital Palmcorder Camcorders offer a variety of playback options. You can playback your recording
s in 1/5x, lx, 2x, 5x, lOx, and 20x speed in both forward and reverse.
SP/LP Tape Speeds
SP. Standard tape speed with normal recording time for 30-minute, 60-minute, and 80-minute tapes.
LP. Long or extended tape speed with one-and-a-half time
s the recording ability of SP mode. It is capable of 120-minutes of recording time on a standard-80-minute tape, while maintaining the same superb audio and video quality enjoyed in SP mode.
Index Search
By automatically placing a signal on the vi
deotape at the beginning of each recorded program, Index Search lets you access each program with a simple touch of the remote control. Auto Index Search previews each indexed recording for a few seconds, so you can determine which recording you want to p
lay. You can even use this feature to search through still images taken with the PhotoShot built-in digital still carnera.
Book Mark Search
Probes the blank portion of your tape (in VCR Mode) and finds the end of your last recording, even after yo
u have ejected your tape and reinserted it for recording at a later date.
Wide Stereo Mic
Allows you to pick up sounds too wide for a conventional microphone.
Microphone Input Terminal
For external microphone connection.
5 Mode Proram
AE (Auto Exposure)
With the 5-Mode Program AE, you can prepare your digital camcorder for almost any recording condition by using the following automatic exposure settings:
Sports: Ideal for sporting events and other fast-paced action. With extraor
dinarily sharp still and slow playback , you can be your own replay official!
Portrait: Focuses on the main subject of the image and leaves the background slightly out of focus by changing the depth of field.
Low Light. Preserves the mood of dim l
ight settings without altering picture brightness.
Spot Light: Neutralizes the additional brightness created by a spot light.
Surf & Snow. Compensates for excessive illumination from sun glare to produce a, clear picture.
